Do you like trying out new things and seeing new places? Are you always the first person to try out a new technology? If you answered yes to any of these questions, Lamannia might be right for you!
Lamannia is a preview server which will be opened to our registered DDO users periodically to test new content, before it is released to the live servers. To make Lamannia an easier transition for our players, you will find the following available to you when you log into Lamannia:
- A copy of your Turbine Point balance from the live servers as of September 30th, 2009
- Active characters from the live servers who logged in between April 29th 2008 and December 29th 2008
Additionally if you had a DDO Unlimited beta account on Lamannia, your beta characters will be available as well.
Your participation on Lamannia is optional and purely voluntary. In order to play on Lamannia, you must have an active DDO account and abide by the terms and conditions of the applicable license agreement, Terms of Service and Code of Conduct.
Playing on Lamannia requires the installation of a separate DDO Unlimited & TDM client. You don’t need to uninstall your existing DDO Unlimited client, nor uninstall your existing Turbine Download Manager.
To download the Lamannia client, click here! Save this Lamannia client in a location different than your primary DDO client.
Note: If you have a copy of Lamannia from the DDO Unlimited beta, you don’t need to reinstall it.
General Questions:
So, whats on Lamannia?
Lamannia will have previews of both DDO Unlimited game features and Store features. Additionally VIP players will be able to preview new quests.
I don’t have a DDO account. Can I play on Lamannia?
Registered DDO users (free, premium, and VIP) may play on Lamannia.
Is there Customer Support on Lamannia?
The In-Game Team may be providing limited customer support on Lamannia, though GM’s will not be fixing quest issues, investigating lost items, et cetera.
All users must adhere to the Code of Conduct and Terms of Service while logged into Lamannia. Any violations of either the Code of Conduct or the Terms of Service resulting in disciplinary action which may occur on Lamannia will affect a user’s live DDO account as well. Bans on Lamannia will carry over to a user’s live DDO account. If you are experiencing difficulties with Lamannia, please check the Lamannia forums for assistance.
NOTE: Due to the fact that Lamannia is a preview server, Turbine cannot guarantee constant content functionality on Lamannia. Permanent character residence is also not guaranteed, as Lamannia may be subject to character wipes as they become necessary.
Please limit your feedback and Update 1 discussions to the Lamannia forums. The Lamannia forums will be opened once the Lamannia server is open to participants.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have previously downloaded and installed the DDO Stormreach Risia client, you must uninstall it before installing the DDO Unlimited Lamannia client.
Important Information Regarding the DDO Store
A Lamannia-only version of the DDO Store will be available during the preview. This DDO Store is completely seperate from the DDO Store on the live servers. No Turbine Points will be available for purchase in the Lamannia DDO Store. No Turbine Points or Store purchases on Lamannia will be transferred from the Lamannia DDO Store to the live servers/live DDO Store.
Providing Feedback
Please provide feedback through the Lamannia forums and through Lamannia bug reports. All discussions related to Update 1 should be restricted to the Lamannia forums.

um, TONS of errors trying to open the TDM that comes with your link to dndsetup.exe.

TDM GUI Unhandled Exception:
System.Windows.Forms
ArgumentNullException
It this window when you click on TDM that just keeps opening windows dialog boxes saying the same thing until X one in the upper right hand corner, then TDM quits out.

If we still have the entire installer from the Beta, is it okay to reinstall that, or do we need to use the file that was linked in the message above? (I downloaded the HiRes full installer back during the Beta and still have it on a DVD…)

The GUI error some of you are experiencing is actually a bug with the current version of Lamannia. You’ll want to open up the task manager and manually end the process “TurbineDownloadManagerGui.exe”. You should be able to open up Lamannia after that, but let us know if this issue persists.

Alright so if you’re getting that GUI error here’s how to work around it: Allow TDM to run in your system tray. Even though you’re getting the GUI error, TDM will still download the updates for Lamannia in the background. When you attempt to log into the game, right click the TDM icon in your system tray and select “Dungeons & Dragons Online - Lamannia” (it’s the second option). This will launch the game. Don’t try to use the actual GUI interface that has the “play” button to launch the game, this is where the error is occurring. (The techies tell me that it’s due to some kind of upgrade error between an older version of TDM with the window that had the succubus on it).

You can log into Lamannia as long as you have a registered DDO Unlimited account. So you can be a free, premium, or VIP to log in. You’ll use the same login that you’d use on the live servers to log into Lamannia.

Why not give us a new character snapshot though? That snapshot is ancient and some of us might wish to try things out with characters we have since capped or leveled far beyond what they were on Dec 29th, 2008. As much as I would love to test the new updates, I really don’t want to have to re-level my characters to where they are now.

i am geting a eror that has something to do with ntdll.dll. i try puting a new version in but i can cause windows uses it. but what happens is i put my pw in then hit sign in it gose to server then starts to login. it bring it up like its starting then closes and says windows had a problem and had to close the program. what do i do?

Is their anyway to get an item restored that was lost in the mail. I still have the item on the Lamania server. I was transferring it between my ranger characters on the main server and it was lost in the mail.

I had deleted the beta version, and now when I try to use the download link, all i get is ‘queued dor downlaod’ and it just sits there forever. Any clues or other d/l links?

I had logged into the Laminna server but now I cant. when i try to launch from the system tray it just sits there and does nothing.

Awsome… Needs some work around the edges, some glitches need to be fixed (such as the spawn in the begining and the first sword sometimes does like 999 damage and then the game freezes up) but in the end this new game is pretty sweet! When it officaly comes out look for Kaliam Denstro in the character panel!!!

i hope they finaly have a prestige for the wizards i was heart brocken to find out that they were skiped but everybody else got the this is awsome News i love this game and can not wait to hear about whether or not theres gonna be a Pale Master Prestig and if so will graphics change to show charecter wi skeletal or zombie arm couse if so that would be SWEET!
-Still hoping they give us the chance to play a Half-Dragon( i would pay 10$ to play one :)..)

The only problem I have is that “character wipes may be neccesary.” I don’t want to transfer over or make a new character, only to have it wiped later on with all of my items and what not. Someone who put money into their character would be really ticked. Now if they made a back up copy of your character…
