    Featured Player

Today’s Featured Player is Totmacher of Argonnessen. His likes include: ham, raiding, chicks in bikinis and Nat Gann. His dislikes include: Tag Hardcastle! Read more about Totmacher in his recent interview for our Featured Player series!

    JaggieWhere are you from?

Originally from Mabar but it got Alderaan’d by this server called Argonnessen. Also, Northern Virginia.

What do you do for a living?

I’m a web monkey working for the federal gubiment. I’m one of those famous monkeys sitting at a typewriter composing the works of Shakespeare but instead of a typewriter, it’s a computer and instead of Shakespeare it’s really, really horrible .NET code.

What do you like to do when you are not playing DDO? Any interesting hobbies?

I play NL Hold ‘em when I’m not playing DDO… It’s an excuse for the occasional yearly trip to Vegas.

What is the last book you read? What is your favorite?

Serious book was Hegemony or Survival by Noam Chomsky… “Non-serious”, I was just looking at the Superheroes d20 book the other day during one of our sessions. It’s a really cool system and “just” uses the d20. Also, it’s a fairly balanced system from what I’ve seen (and I exploit the hell out of anything I ever get, usually).

Dunno if I have a favorite book, they all taste the same…

What was the last movie you saw? What is your favorite?

I like the talkies, but I play no favorites!!!

What kind of music do you like to listen to?

I loop the music from Finding the Path all day and it takes me to special places. I listen to all sorts of stuff like that… I love ambient music.

Did you ever play the Pen and Paper version of D&D? Which editions?

    Yes, I played/exploited/broke/cried over 2nd, 3rd and 3.5.

    Totmacher

How did you get interested in DDO?

I have a knack for digging into rules sets and breaking/bending them to my advantage. I really just play a character sheet at most sessions. I don’t even fill in the description part really!

How did you choose your character’s name?

It’s from music I listened to when I was younger and angrier. :)

    What race/class is your favorite?

I really like WF Barbs because there’s nothing better than a raging robot

    Tag

What server do you play on?

    Aggronessen

Are you a member of a guild? Which one?

I’m primarily a member of Archmagi but I’m all over the place in terms of grouping… I’m one of the founding members of a channel formed up around Archmagi. The original intent was to have a shared space for the three high-end raiding guilds so they could communicate and raid with each other. But it’s really really grown and blown up since then and there’s like 15-20 guilds in there now… so I don’t really stick much to a guild so much anymore as help maintain the channel and just stick there since that’s where most all of my friends are.

    Do you like to raid?

    Yes. Hell yes.
    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

What do you think is the coolest looking place in DDO?

I really enjoy the Overview bluff in the Vale, it’s definitely one of the best looking zones. Kudos to whoever designed that. Now they just need to install a huge grease slide.

Do you quest with people you know, a pick up group, or brave it alone? All of the above?

Primarily with people I know… but I like pugging too because it’s fun to meet new people. I like teaching new people. I’m kind of a sucker :(

Do you use any clickie items? What kind are must-haves in your inventory?

CLICKIES! I haven’t used a real clickie since… mod 4. Potions or shroud clickies are probably the closest I get to clickieinginging

    Ham

Do you have a favorite snack to eat when you are playing DDO?

Halflings with mustard. Ha ha, just kidding, who would put mustard on them, they’re spicy enough

Ever had an embarrassing party wipe?

Just last night… I had two players tank the Abbot puzzle because I was leading them and they wouldn’t wait on the 2nd to last tile (which was permanent). This kind of stuff happens to me all the time. People hate me and will fail quests with assured completions to get my goat. Normandy!!!

If you could hang out in real-life with any of the NPC’s from the game who would you choose? Why?

Sometimes when I feel lonely I go into Sunken Parish and cast Otto’s Irresistable Dance on the chicks with bikinis. Then we dance for hours and I call them my girlfriend and we talk about what we did today…

What’s your favorite Adventure Pack or quest chain?

Gianthold! I have so many memories.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Ok now that this is over, let’s get down to brass tacks. I demand the release of Nat Gann otherwise the deaths of many halflings will be on your heads. I’ve tried playing nice and that’s not working so it’s time to play hard ball. You have 2 weeks to secure his release or DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FREE NAT

    Where is Nat Gann

Totmacher, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule for our interview. We look forward to seeing you in game!

I can’t believe I was the first person that said that. You Argonites are SLOW!

    16. Clankenbeard Says:

For those of you unfamiliar with Natt Gann, he was a saint among men. He could stand on a performing pole all day long without food, water, shoes, or a pole. He was that good. Clanky tried to kick the pole out from under him one day and regained consciousness in a room of broken texture maps somehow with two extra teeth and the ability to speak Displacer Beast. Natt, we miss you. Why can’t you use your saintlike omnipotent powers of Performance to bend time and space (again) and come back to us?

Congrats on Player O’ The Week Tot! Take heed kids. “Eat a book.”

    17. Aussieee Says:

      A date for mana pots?:p

    18. Symar-FangofLloth Says:

Natt went and joined the drow living in the Shipwrecked Spy quest. That or he got eaten by Quori while visiting there.

    19. JakLee7 Says:

Nat Gann is waiting for us (displacer beast speaking and everything) at the end of Epic Kobold Assault!

    20. Beherit_Baphomar Says:

      Natt’s dead.

    23. Lorien_the_First_One Says:
