    Crafting with…Courtney! Episode 1

Hello everyone, and welcome to my first episode of “Crafting with…Courtney!” I’m here to make crafting fun, easy, and good for you!

I thought I’d start with a Deathblock Robe of Invulnerability. How many times have you stepped out of the shower, only to be pelted with Phantasmal Killer and a rain of arrows? I know I have! This robe will make you look great while you take out beholders, archers, or anything else that aims to dampen your day with a little horrible, painful death, and today’s recipe is easy to make!

The most important thing, of course, is how the robe looks! I like to hunt around Irestone Inlet, killing pirates, until I find just the right look in one of the pirates’ chests! (It’s not stealing when it comes from a pirate’s chest, right?)

    You’ll also need:

    • 21 Greater Good Essences
    • 192 Lesser Good Essences
    • 25 Siberys Dragonshard Fragments
    • 3 Amulets of the Lost Empire
    • 3 Greater Body Essences
    • 12 Lesser Body Essences
    • 4 Khyber Dragonshard Fragments
    • 3 Strings of Prayer Beads

Making this fine useful robe is as easy as 1, 2, 3! All you need is a couple of shards and a craftable robe:

    1. Prepare the robe for crafting by deconstructing the robe with a Dust of Disjunction in the Deconstruction Device.
    2. Using the Shard Device for shards, combine Greater Good Essences, Lesser Good Essences, Siberys Dragonshard Fragments and Amulets of the Lost Empire to make the Deathblock Shard. Combine Greater Body Essences, Lesser Body Essences, Khyber Dragonshard Fragments, and Strings of Prayer Beads to make Invulnerability Shard.
    3. Using the Item Creation Device, combine the Deathblock Shard with the Robe to make a Deathblock Robe. Next, combine the Invulnerability Shard with the Robe to make the Deathblock Robe of Invulnerability.

The Deathblock and Invulnerability shards will add four to the enchantment level of your robe, but you won’t need a Shard of Potential for this stylish damage-soaker! I like to make the robe extra-special by adding an Alchemical Armor Eldritch Ritual to it for a tasteful +1 Dodge Bonus, but either way, your new robe will turn heads, and help you take crossbow bolts to the chest!

I hope you enjoy this first installment of “Crafting with…Courtney!” If you’d like to see a recipe of our crafted robe, click here to check out our Crafting Cookbook in the DDO Compendium! And, don’t forget to add your own recipes to the index!

    Until next time, happy shard-making!

1 minor detail: deathblock shards require level 71 (or close to) divine crafting. Which means you’ll need about a million more of those good essences. Just sayin’…

@Bronzelyre - yep. Might want to start with an Unbalancing Robe of Invulnerability - the Invulnerability lets you survive orange and red alert, and the Unbalancing helps you hit bosses with stupid-high AC due to Dungeon Alert.
