Disciples of the Apocalypse is a Sarlona-based Founder guild that began as a group of “real life” pencil-and-paper friends, and has since expanded to include people from all over! The guild does not impose raid or play time requirements on its members, and has a “no drama” philosophy. One member tells us, “DOA is definitely part of what keeps me playing DDO!” Talk to Felgore Gobstomper in-game, and click here to check out their guild page on my.ddo!

This week we are thinking about the Risia Ice Games! If you could add Icy Burst to one of your favorite items in the real world, what would it be and why?

I would add it to my pen so that I could cool off my beverages or zap my co-workers for a bit of fun.
July 15th, 2011 at 4:54 pm
I have a nice broadsword, having a magical one would be good times!
July 15th, 2011 at 4:56 pm
I would add it to my desk fan, for extra ice power on these brutally hot summer days.
July 15th, 2011 at 5:02 pm
To the fly swatter. No more wondering whether I dealt them the death blow or not. Just keep swinging until that familiar ice shard shatter noise happens.
July 15th, 2011 at 5:07 pm
Apply directly to the forehead. Massive headache today.
Otherwise it would be used for a CPU cooler.
July 15th, 2011 at 5:10 pm
Hmmm… well as someone who has done the mile hike that is the parade of the renaissance festival at the tail end of summer… i would say an icyburst bodice cooler would be wonderful.
July 15th, 2011 at 5:39 pm
I’d like it applied to my beer cozy - gotta keep that can or bottle cold while working in the hot summer.
July 15th, 2011 at 5:51 pm
I would add it to the freezer. Wait, what?
July 15th, 2011 at 6:12 pm
Was going to say my water glass at work. Always running out of ice.
But, someone mentioned a fan, so now I’m saying my box fan that blows into my PC. Cool my computer and my whole room!
July 15th, 2011 at 6:19 pm
I think I would add it to my weed wacker. It would be pretty cool to watch the weed stalks explode into ice cubes…
July 15th, 2011 at 6:32 pm
I’d apply Cold Burst to the interior of my PC, so it’d never overheat again.
July 15th, 2011 at 6:49 pm
I would add it to my wife, she’s sooooo hot!
July 15th, 2011 at 7:45 pm
Definitely to the computer fan. That way, I can craft the game version without worry about my computer.
July 15th, 2011 at 7:55 pm
Oh I’d put that baby right on the bottom of my favorite pint glass for sure!
July 15th, 2011 at 8:35 pm
My beer stein.
July 15th, 2011 at 9:20 pm
I’d add it to my favorite bowl to keep my ice cream from melting!
July 15th, 2011 at 9:21 pm
Why not some Icy Burst Sunglasses? Protects against both the light and the heat of the sun.
July 15th, 2011 at 11:08 pm
The Risia Ice Games are so old that I don’t want to even THINK about putting Icy Burst on something. I want something new, without a doubt, but something also ice related…rather than Icy Burst, id rather have a recipe that allows you to craft a ice shard trinket. This exclusive trinket has the ability to cast iceskin 2/rest at CL 16, which is basically like stoneskin except it also gives you a ice resistance of 40 and amplifies fire damage by 20%.
But please, for the love of Risia…update the Ice Games so it has new and/or different recipes!
July 15th, 2011 at 11:46 pm
I would apply it to the fan on my second pc.
July 16th, 2011 at 12:14 am
I’d have to put it on a Mentos.
July 16th, 2011 at 12:50 am
My ice cream maker, so i don’t have to set it in the freezer. Or my 32 oz beer stein so my Guinness is always cold.
July 16th, 2011 at 4:43 am
Icy Burst Mug.
Never have to drink not-cold beer ever again!
July 16th, 2011 at 8:08 am
The freezer so it would not need electricity.
July 16th, 2011 at 8:35 am
My poking stick.
July 16th, 2011 at 9:26 am
I’d put icy burst on a wooden stick…….
Zap things like the enternal wand in DDO :D…
Or maybe on my Assault rifle, like that sayin goes…
“Just listen for the fimiliar sound of ice cracking”
I like the idea of new risia games recipes, but how about, new games for the games…
July 16th, 2011 at 10:06 am
I would add it to my house. Sure would work great on those really hot days.
July 16th, 2011 at 11:16 am
My apartment’s air conditioner could certainly benefit from a bit of Icy Burst…
July 16th, 2011 at 11:54 am
What the world really needs is an icy burst toothbrush.
July 16th, 2011 at 12:54 pm
I’d put it in my trenchcoat. Nothing compares to looking sinister while staying cool in the summer heat.
July 16th, 2011 at 1:07 pm
I’m totally uncool, so I’d put Icy Burst on… myself. Then I’d be chillin’.
July 16th, 2011 at 6:54 pm
I would Icy Burst my cat, so I can use it as a portable cooler pet!
July 16th, 2011 at 8:28 pm
I would - and I have - added it to a Flaming Burst weapon like my FB Kukri of Pure Good. Targets take fire, cold, and good damage. It’s especially fun to use it against things like ice reavers or fire elementals: “Immune to fire? Hah! You take double from cold, you fiend!”
July 17th, 2011 at 12:14 pm
I would add it to the inside of my pillow. Nothing worse than a warm pillow on a hot summer night, so hard to fall asleep with your head boiling.
July 17th, 2011 at 12:57 pm
Definitely my drinking straw.
How nice it would be i can get some ice-cold drinks every time i want!
July 17th, 2011 at 7:38 pm
I would add it to my fan so I wouldn’t need the A/C
July 18th, 2011 at 11:38 am
My hands. I figure if I have to lug them around everywhere I may as well make them useful. “No need to go get ice, I’ll freeze your water!” Someone try to mug you? Punch them in the gut and they’ll stop! Someone getting on your nerves? See above.
July 18th, 2011 at 1:56 pm
On a cup so I can drink my iced cappucino.
July 18th, 2011 at 1:57 pm
It is currently over 100F heat index here. I would have Icy Burst on my fan in a heartbeat. Keep me and my computer from overheating while playing DDO.
July 18th, 2011 at 6:45 pm
I would absolutely apply it to a frying pan so that I have a frying pan for heating, and one for cooling! Second reason being I can whack people with it, nice bludgeon damage and some frost too. Besides, it’s not a suspicious weapon, not at all.

Uhh, on my favourite handcrafted glass , *ahem* “smoking device”
July 19th, 2011 at 3:05 pm
I would add icy burst to my snow shovel so that I could make ice and then shovel it away.
July 23rd, 2011 at 2:08 am
I would apply ice burst to my alarm clock to provide much better encouragement not to sleep in.
July 26th, 2011 at 8:23 pm
I would put it on my Dragon claw ring, (i know you know the kind, that covers your whole finger, with a Sharp tip) so i could Defend myself from the Bullies at my school. i however would not pick the fight, I would only defend if Stricken upon.
